The Summit of the Americas is an international summit meeting that brings together leaders of members of the Organization of American States (OAS)
2022[edit | edit source]
The Ninth Summit of the Americas was held in Los Angeles, USA from Jun 6-10, 2022. The United States did not invite Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua to the summit claiming that they are not "democracies" (as if the USA has any right to make such accusations, itself being a plutocracy).
The president of Mexico, AMLO, skipped the summit because Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua were not allowed to join.[1] Bolivia and Honduras also skipped the event for similar reasons.[2]
Black Alliance for Peace is planning on protesting the summit for similar reasons.[3]
In response to this summit, the Workers Summit of the Americas was organized.[4]
