The World Economic Forum (WEF) is an imperialist think-tank which acts as the meeting place for the global monopoly corporations and the ultra-rich members of the bourgeoisie.

This group of wealthy and powerful individuals tends to favor "progressive" policies that aim to stabilize the decaying capitalist order, much like how the Rockefeller family supported FDR's social-democratic policies to stabilize the USA from the Great Depression. However, despite their rhetoric for 'stakeholder capitalism' over 'shareholder capitalism', not much has been accomplished in the way of 'reforming' capitalism.

It has become a boogeyman of the right-wing pro-capitalist petit bourgeoisie which complains about the ultra-rich for dominating the so-called "globalist" (a dogwhistle for Jews) economic order.

On the other hand, Marxists recognize that global monopoly stage capitalism (imperialism) is simply an inevitable effect of the capitalist accumulation of capital, the solution of which is socialism.
