The previous edit mentioned opportunism as seeking for personal gain using the definition of MIA's glossary. While I believe that in some cases this is a possible motive from opportunists, this hardly describes the phenomena of opportunism as a whole. However, I rewrote the article in a way to leave this description available as well in any case. However, I think we should abandon MIA's glossary definition as a reference because it doesn't explain anything, it's a half-assed and incorrect description of opportunism in Lenin
