The Epoch Times is a media outlet in the USA propaganda network. It is almost entirely funded by the US government through either direct funding (government budget), NED payments, military investments, or through secret channels. Its entire staff is comprised of high-tier Falun Gong cult members. The outlet also invites many far-right pundits to regularly publish articles.
Questionable content[edit | edit source]
William Gairdner[edit | edit source]
William Gairdner is a regular contributor to the Epoch Times.[1] He has published articles on White Nationalism, Climate Denialism, and many reactionary topics such as Anti-Feminism, and Anti-Abortion.
Gairdner also has published many extremely offensive articles on his own website. In his article titled "Religion and Homosexuality" he states the following:
- Religions promote moral behaviour. Homosexuality is the opposite. If not outlawed by most countries, it is deemed morally wrong, or sinful, by overwhelming majorities of normal people.
- Religion is healthy. Homosexuality is the opposite. It is bad for individual and social health. Homosexuals die younger, and have vastly more social, psychological, sexual, alcohol, and drug problems than any other group.
- Religion is culturally inherited. Homosexuality is the opposite. No one, no parent, no community leader, no one except another (usually older) homosexual, would ever voluntarily induct a child into homosexuality. Respected sexologists Masters and Johnson have repeatedly shown recovery rates of 70 per cent for homosexuals.[2]
In another article titled "The Homosexual Thing" he writes:
Neither are we "Homophobic," which is a silly term. We are not afraid of homosexuals. We are mostly disgusted by homosexual behaviour and the homosexual worldview.[3]
Dennis Prager[edit | edit source]
Dennis Prager is another regular contributor to the Epoch Times.[4] He has published articles celebrating the settler-colonial state of Israel, America and White Nationalism, and also articles pushing COVID-19 conspiracy theories.
In one of his articles titled "Mask-Wearing Represents Fear and Blind Obedience, Not Science" he states the following:
- You do not need medical or scientific expertise to understand the foolishness of outdoor mask-wearing. Common sense, that great unused guide to life, suffices.
- Those running the hospital don’t believe masks actually work.
- The irony, however, is that “the science” doesn’t justify the fanatical commitment to mask-wearing. There are plenty of experts with evidence-based views to the contrary.
- Masks do not work.
- Surgical and cloth masks, used as they currently are, have absolutely no impact on controlling the transmission of Covid-19 virus, and current evidence implies that face masks can be actually harmful.[5]
