Yəhōyāqīm (c. 632 BCE – 598 BCE), anglicized as Jehoiakim, was a king of Judah from 609 to 598 BCE. With support from the Egyptian pharaoh Nekau II, he broke Judah's alliance with Babylonia. In response, Nabûkudurriuṣur II began a siege of Jerusalem and captured the city in 597 BCE. He installed Ṣīḏqīyyāhū as the new king.[1]
