The Donetsk People's Republic (Russian: Донецкая Наро́дная Респу́блика; DPR or ДНР/DNR) was a separatist state with limited recognition, located in the Donbass region.[1] Despite its suggestive name like the Luhansk People's Republic (2014–2022), it was not a socialist state.

Due to the Western Supported Euromaidan, a colour revolution that led to the rise of fascism in Ukraine, Russian and other ethnic minorities have been persecuted, resulting in the separation of Crimea, and its subsequent unification with Russia, as well as the founding of the Luhansk People's Republic and the Donetsk People's Republic in the Donbass region in early 2014.
