Democratic Kampuchea was a country in Southeast Asia.
History
Pol Pot took power in Cambodia in 1975. The United States killed 500,000 Cambodians with aerial bombing and then sanctioned Cambodia. The bombings killed 75% of the country's draft animals and destroyed many rural houses.
Pol Pot executed between 75,000 and 150,000 civilians, including many pro-Vietnamese communists.[1] In 1978, Pol Pot invaded Vietnam but was overthrown by a Vietnamese counterattack in 1979. He began a US-backed guerrilla warfare campaign against the Vietnamese.[2]
