Malaysia is a country in Southeast Asia bordering Indonesia, Brunei, Thailand, and the island of Singapore.
History
The Malayan Communist Party fought against the British colonizers from 1948 until independence in 1957.[1]:249 In 1965, Singapore seceded from Malaysia.[1]:252
