Carlos Prats González (24 February 1915 – 30 September 1974) was a Chilean general and politician who served as Minister of Defense under Allende from 1970 to 1973. Michael Townley assassinated him with a car bomb after the 1973 coup in order to prevent him from leading a military uprising against Pinochet.[1]
