It was founded in November 1991 by Nina Andreyeva. The party opposes the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, considering it reformist, and refuses to back its candidates in presidential elections. The party is outspoken against religion and is a critic of Vladimir Putin's regime.[1] The party is critical of Khrushchevism and aims for the restoration of the Soviet Union. The party had 22,000 members as of 2013.
