Nationalisation (within the socialist mode of production) is the process whereby the control over the means of production and agriculture is shifted into the hands of the proletarian state and the entire working class in accordance with the dictatorship of the proletariat.

Nationalisation under capitalism

Nationalisation of the means of production under capitalism, creates another strand of capitalism—state capitalism.
