The Donetsk People's Republic (Russian: Донецкая Наро́дная Респу́блика; DPR or ДНР/DNR) is a separatist state of limited recognition, located in the Donbass region.[1] Despite its suggestive name, it is not a socialist state.
Due to the Euromaidan, a colour revolution that led to the rise of fascism in Ukraine, Russian and other ethnic minorities have been persecuted, resulting in the separation of Crimea, and its subsequent unification with Russia, as well as the founding of the Luhansk People's Republic and the Donetsk People's Republic in the Donbass region in early 2014.
