Red Sails, also RedSails or Redsails, is a communist website run by Roderic Day, Nia Frome, and Sobrina de Alguien. It features classical Marxist-Leninist texts as well as original essays by its contributors. Furthermore, the Red Sails team produces original translations of interviews with Marxist revolutionaries and thinkers. The project upholds Stalin and the People's Republic of China, and advocates for intersectionality while opposing liberal identity politics. According to its mission statement, the combination of original writing and seminal Marxist classics is strategically intended to encourage all Marxists to write their own theory, and avoid viewing existing Marxist works as a sacred canon that cannot be criticised and/or expanded upon.[1]

Domenico Losurdo features prominently within the thinkers translated, cited, and published on Red Sails by the team. William Claire Roberts is the other primary influence on the project. [2]

The new custom-built essays frontend looks closer to a blog and whereas the legacy essays space ordered essays by author, this new interface orders them by publication date with a sidebar of available items. It also provides an excerpt of the essay, ultimately all improving discovery.

Gus Hall (1910-2000) was leader of the CPUSA from 1959 until his death in 2000. Hall was known for frequently taking a staunch Marxist-Leninist stance and led the CPUSA through a number of difficult times. In late 1991, a group of reformist members of the CPUSA known as the Committees of Correspondence led a push to move the party away from Marxism-Leninism. This faction was defeated and as a result left the party. This, along with the dissolution of the USSR and fall of the Eastern Bloc socialist countries all in quick succession, resulted in a weakened communist party. The party remained under the leadership of Hall through this period, but as his health deteriorated he stepped down from the position in late 2000 and was replaced by Sam Webb, who was 55 at the time.
