Western Marxism refers to the form of Marxism in the imperial core which has never held state power. It denounces successful revolutions as "state capitalist" or "authoritarian" but praises revolutionaries who were killed by imperialism such as Che Guevara and Salvador Allende. Revolutions that have taken power in the geographical west, such as Cuba, are more aligned with eastern Marxism.[1]
