This text is an ideological guide to the project. Any criticism of this text is accepted in our discussion page.
Our principles were last updated on: 5 January 2023
Core tenets
Political line
We are guided by Marxism-Leninism, mainly the works of Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels and Vladimir Lenin. Based on that, ProleWiki upholds the currently developing dictatorships of the proletariat in:
- Republic of Cuba
- People's Republic of China
- Democratic People's Republic of Korea
- Socialist Republic of Vietnam
- Lao People's Democratic Republic
Anti-imperialism
Although the below states are bourgeois dictatorships, we critically support them:
- Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
- Russian Federation
- Republic of Belarus
- Syrian Arab Republic
- Plurinational State of Bolivia
- Republic of Nicaragua
- State of Palestine
- Islamic Republic of Iran
We critically support them insofar as their national bourgeoisie's interests align with those of its proletariat; that is, specifically, in the struggle against domination by foreign capital and NATO imperialism, which we consider the primary imperialist force in the world. In the final instance, we support the workers and oppressed peoples of these countries against their ruling class.
Anti-oppression
We are against any form of oppression, or glorification of oppression against ethnic groups, women, and LGBTQIA+ people. Class reductionism is an anti-Marxist position. As such, this includes opposition to reactionary and social-chauvinist movements, such as, but not limited to:
- Fascism and neo-fascism
- Nazism and neo-Nazism
- Zionism
- Strasserism
- Fourth Political Theory
- National Bolshevism
- LaRoucheism and patriotic socialism
Goals
ProleWiki strives to be free to users and be governed by its contributors
The mission of the ProleWiki is to provide free and accessible information and works relevant to the understanding and development of Marxism-Leninism.
ProleWiki encourages the free copying and re-distribution of all materials on the site. You can publish copyrighted material, as long as it adheres to our editorial conventions. Each aspect of our project can be democratically established, however, our project shall never decide for its own dissolution.
ProleWiki strives for collective ownership
ProleWiki strives to never be owned by any individual person, and to always promote collective ownership of the website.
ProleWiki will never carry advertisements or proprietary tracking software, and will always strive to preserve the safety of our comrades. ProleWiki's governing structure may change over time as a result of elections and editor rotation.
ProleWiki strives for democratic decision making
The central organizational principle of ProleWiki is democratic decision making. No individual should dictate others. Democratic decision-making is the essence of every healthy organization. But we shouldn't always depend on decisions, individual initiative can go a long way. We should resort to democratic decision-making when faced with a contradiction, a disagreement. Any comrade is welcome to work on the ProleWiki on this basis. All contributors, which include administrators, should advocate policies and raise issues to collectively work on if needed.
ProleWiki strives for transparency
Guided by Marxism-Leninism, we adhere to free criticism of our governance. Everything about our budget, donations, policy changes, and any source code created shall be open, accessible and public. If any information (which does not compromise the security of the project) is unavailable, let us know somehow.
ProleWiki strives for criticism and self-criticism
Let us remind ourselves that free criticism does not mean the liberal-bourgeois idea of "free speech". We should openly repress:
- Reactionary language, or language with a purposeful intention of promoting any kind of oppression.
- Chauvinism, or promoting the idea of one group of people being superior to a different group of people.
Self-criticism is not only accepted but encouraged.
ProleWiki should be guided by the philosophical outlook of Marxism-Leninism
Each and every effort is necessary in striving for an international proletarian society. Let Marxism-Leninism be the guiding light of proletarians of all nations!
ProleWiki's priority is to advance class consciousness
Educate yourself, educate others. Our goal is to promote accessibly the ideas of Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, Vladimir Lenin and other revolutionaries, such as Mao Zedong, Ho Chi Minh, Kim Il-sung, and others, and information relevant to understanding bourgeois society and its historical development. We shall unite our efforts to promote revolutionary potential to the people!
