The Congress Party for the Independence of Madagascar otherwise known in French as the Parti du Congrès de l'indépendence de Madagascar or in Malagasy Antoko'ny Kongresi'ny Fahaleovantenan'i Madagasikara aka the AKFM is a communist political party was that founded on November 8th, 1958. The Organization that took part in the founding of this Party was a group called the UPM that were created by a Man named Francis Sutton. The founding president of the AKFM was Richard Andriamanjato who was Merina Protestant Priest who developed links to the French Communist Party.
