The Communist Party of Kampuchea (CPK), also known as the Khmer Communist Party, was a party in Cambodia led by Pol Pot that claimed to be communist. However, by the time of 1963–1964, it had effectively become a reactionary nationalist party that cloaked itself in communist rhetoric while purging actual communists, much like how the National Socialist German Workers' Party claimed to be socialist.[1]
