Socialism has a long history in Canada dating back to the late 19th century.

Socialist Labour Party (defunct)

The Socialist Labour Party was founded in 1898 as a Canadian extension of Statesian counterpart, the Socialist Labor Party of America. it was largely inspired by the ideas of Statesian socialist Daniel De Leon.

The Party dissolved in 2005 after the death of its national secretary, Doug Irving.
