The Portuguese Communist Party (PCP) is a communist party in Portugal founded in 1921.[1]

History

The Portuguese Communist party was founded on March 6, 1921, influenced by the October Revolution. On November 12, 1923, the first Party Congress took place in Lisbon. From its founding up until 2004, the Portuguese Communist Party had 17 congresses in total.[2]

Leadership

The current General Secretary of the Portuguese Communist Party is Paulo Raimundo.[3] The Central Committee consists of 108 members.[4] The Secretariat of the Central Committee consists of 9 members.[5] The Political Committee of the Central Committee consists of 23 members.[6] The Central Control Commission Consists of 9 members.[7]
